Welcome to Retford Gamston Airport

Since acquiring the airport in 1993, Gamston Aviation Limited has carried out a continuous programme of improvements to facilities. These comprise, complete runway resurfacing, improved taxiways, hard standing and tie-down areas. In addition, the amount of hangar space has more than doubled and a new elevated control tower and fire station constructed. Office facilities for rental, have also been added to accommodate complimentary on-site businesses.

These together with our new catering facility and efficient re-fuelling, provide a modern and attractive General Aviation terminal for the basing or stop-over for corporate or private aircraft.

As a winner of the AOPA “Aerodrome of the Year Award”, our philosophy is to bring the service and standards of major airports to general aviation, without delays or added costs.

Why Retford (Gamston) Airport

Retford (Gamston) Airport is ideally located for Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, with excellent road (being adjacent to the A1, M18) and rail links.

It is a high speed refuelling link for fixed wing and rotary aircraft including jets, turbo props and rotary aircraft, as well as being able to offer meeting facilities in our terminal building.

Probably the friendliest and most flexible GA facility in the UK, just the place to base your aircraft or for you to fly into with your family, clients and friends.

With great regret I am writing to advise you that we had had no choice but to cancel the planned fly in on Saturday 23rd July.  The reason for this is that the display pilots we had  booked have all now withdrawn from the event. Accordingly we felt it better to cancel the event altogether rather than continue to invite pilots to fly in expecting to see the various fly pasts etc which will not now happen.  Of course you are still very welcome to fly in on the day - the airport will still be operating as normal.
I would be grateful if you would pass on this disappointing news to all who you may know and who had been planning to attend the event.
